Steinerei 2020 - Festival Announcement

This weekend a part of the world had its sights set on Germany. Thirty years ago, on 9 November, it was in the centre of Europe that a crucial episode was played out to preserve peace in the world: a people came together, a wall fell! On the occasion of the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, let's turn our attention to the East to (re)discover the Steinerei brickfilm festival.

Hardly rested from the previous edition of the festival, the German community started looking for a new place to organize its festival. After some hesitation towards an edition in Austria, it was finally the city of Leverkusen (Germany) that was chosen. This 16th edition will take place precisely at the Kinopolis Friedrich-Ebert-Platz cinema in Leverkusen on June 13th 2020 from 02:30 PM i.e. :


The news "master of ceremony" succeeding @Torben will be @AoW-Gamer and @Knauser. A few weeks ago, they announced that the participation terms and conditions will be identical to those of last year. At that, the theme of the festival was announced :

This year again, 9 categories will reward the best entries according to the following criteria:

• Best Dramaturgy;
• Best Camera work;
• Best Set design;
• Best Animation;
• Best Soundtrack;
• Best Voice Acting;
• Best Newcomer;
• The publicums choice award;
• Jury choice award
